At Mt. Spokane Church Ministries we believe every member is a minister. The Bible teaches that Christians are all part of the "body of Christ" and there are no unnecessary or insignificant parts. We believe it is important for every Christian to do their part in advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christian's, as part of God's family, should serve in a ministry as part of a local church family. A church home is where believer's feel valued by serving God and helping to care for the spiritual and physical needs of others.

It is our goal to produce"disciples" who are ministers at Mt. Spokane Church Ministries. If we produce attendees we have fallen short of our goal. There is a saying we use that summarizes it well: If someone attends our ministry and simply SITS and just SOAKS in the messages without SERVING their faith will SOUR and their spiritual life will SUFFER.

 

Dr. Robert V. Smith (Pastor Bob) has served as our Senior Pastor for 33 years. He and his wife Marci (they met in first grade) have two grown sons, Matthew (Alicia) and Mark (Teresa). They also have two much loved and adored grandchildren... Jamie and Lincoln.

 

Pastor Bob serves as Chaplain for the City of Spokane Fire Department, teaches at Moody Bible Institute, and serves as President of the Greater Spokane Association of Evangelicals.

 

Bob plays guitar, writes music, and along with his sons serves on the Mt. Spokane Church Ministries worship teams. The family enjoys church activities as well as spending time at their lake home in northern Idaho.
